‘Tai Hei’ is a Chinese Opera piece directed by the Chinese Opera veteran — Madam Choy Him Heong, assisted by Kenny Lam.

Madam Choy Him Heong persists to keep the art of traditional Chinese Opera going. She has been training and presenting Chinese Opera in her entire life. Traditional Chinese Opera will soon fade into oblivion, but thanks to the producer, Mr Chin San Sooi, for his dedication and perseverance, the Chinese Opera piece, ‘Tai Hei’ will be staged on the 29th and 30th of April at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC).

3 beautiful traditional Chinese Opera pieces, ‘Lok Kwok Tai Fong Seong’ [LKTFS] (The Inauguration of the Prime Minister), an excerpt from ‘Tai Loi Fah’ (Princess Chueng Ping) and also Fong Kok Yan Sau (The Romance of the Phoenix Chamber) will be staged. Madam Choy hopes the audiences would enjoy and appreciate the exquisiteness of the Chinese Opera and its aesthetics through the 3 pieces

We don’t get to see many Chinese operas in recent times. This will be an interesting re-introduction of the Chinese art-form of yester-years.
