Contemporary theatre is not about a rojak of languages, neither should it be purely English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil. However, it is this difference in our multi-language and culture that makes us unique in our ways. What a Mandarin theatre company like Drama Box could try to do locally is to differentiate itself from the common English theatre for that is how they could preserve what is left of their culture and language amidst this globalized village.

Good analysis. The challenge of getting the Gen Z into the theatre (or to come to arts events as whole) is a great one. But the more general challenge is to get other segments of society to be interested? They come when they are single or dating, but once they get a family, etc, they go and watch Lion King and Mama Mia!
